Bruno Casiano Alicea


In 1960, Bruno Casiano Alicea, was born in Gary, Indiana to Puerto Rican parents. At the age of 10 his family moved to Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

In 1979, he graduates from La Escuela Superior Luis Llorens Torres, Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

In 1982, he initiates his art studies at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. There he concentrates in studio painting under the instructions of Frank Cervoni, Julio Suarez, Hernandez Cruz, Jose Alicea, Joaquin Mercado and an array of other well known Puerto Rican artists.

In 1986, he is granted a full 2 years scholarship to study at the Escuela de Diseño, Altos de Chavon, Republica Dominicana.

In 1988, returning to Puerto Rico, he works as a graphic designer for “El Poeta” newspaper of Ponce. In that same year, he travel’s to Cleveland, Ohio in pursuit of new points of view in the arts.

In 1996, he completes a bachelor degree in illustration from The Cleveland Institute of Art.

In 1999, he works with The Cleveland of Art, Education Department, Out-reach Programs.

From 2003 to 2008, he owns and curates his own Gallery “Bruno Casiano Gallery” where he showcases local, national and international artists.

Currently, he is a well known working artist in the Northeast Ohio area.
